You like the Commodore 64? You like Synth-Pop? Well then just imagine if they combined to make a unique and overwhelmingly nerdy fusion of fantastic beats and old school sounds – Well, my friend, there’s no need to imagine anymore as Mind.In.A.Box released their fantastic album R.E.T.R.O last year which led to excited 40 year olds reminiscing about ‘old skool’ days when they were being blown away by the immense POWER of the Commodore 64 (as oppose to living out 80′s stereotypes by sporting big hair and dancing to Cyndi Lauper).
This album is a great indication that whilst 2009 was the resurgence of Synth-Pop, 2010 also did it’s bit in the electronica field and there’s nothing to say that this year will be any different. As I know you all enjoy classic gaming and music that doesn’t involve the words “Do The Donkey Kong”, I took it upon myself to share this marvel of an album with you all.
M.I.A.B cover computer game classics like “Lightforce” and “The Last V8″ and mix them with their own compositions to create a completely awesome album, I’ve scoured Youtube and picked out my personal favourite, “The Last Ninja” – See what you think!
There’s loads on offer here though, so if you have Spotify you should take a listen to the whole album – Or head on over to iTunes and download it!
